To purify water, a process is used with different gases to purify the water to clean drinking water. Carbon dioxide is used to maintain acidity, ozone and chlorine dioxide are required for the disinfection of the water. The danger of chlorine gas, ozone and carbon dioxide (in high concentrations) lies in its toxicity.
Consumed drinking water is returned to the wastewater treatment system via the sewer. In addition to gases intended for the purification of the water, gases are also produced in water purification. These gases, such as methane and hydrogen sulphide, can be used as a source of energy again. The highly flammable methane and the toxic hydrogen sulphide are formed during the rotting process in the sludge that remains from the sewage water. Ground and sewage pumping stations also have to deal with these gases. When entering these officially 'hazardous areas' gas detection is therefore mandatory and obviously necessary for the safety of the people present.
We supply portable detectors for single- and multi-gasses for personal protection and fixed gas detection installations to ensure your safety during operations in water treatment and grinding.
